Best Places To Shop For Women Over 40
To all the partners out there who need help in what to get their loved ones for the holidays. Well, wipe the sweat off your brow and take a seat.
As we age, certain fashion styles no longer match our body. Most of the time, we can not squeeze ourselves into that cute, sexy outfit we wore in our 20’s & 30’s. Does not mean that we do not want to look sexy. Just because our bodies have changed, does not mean our minds have.
So, here is a list of retailers that fit well with the women over 40. These stores carry outfits that are age-appropriate and still can make us look drop-dead gorgeous. Outfits that our Grandma’s would definitely not wear and that is the goal! No polyester or moo moo outfits.
Nordstrom Rack - I find this store so fabulous. You can get upscale brand names for the fraction of the cost. Plus, I have noticed that they show outfits that go together well. They have an extensive variety of stuff that you can choose from. You can be a hero and get the whole kit n caboodle. Start with a purse, jewelry and work your way down.
Talbots - This one at first I did not like. I thought it was overpriced. But, then I really spent time in there and found so many options. My favorite is their pants selection. No old ladies type! Cute and trendy styles. I feel if you invest in 1 or 2 pieces of clothing, they will last!
White House/Black Market - This store surprised me. I am not a fan of always wearing white or black. I feel it is boring and bland. But the pieces are elegant and stand the test of time. But what I did fall in love with is that they are carrying colors now. So, you have choices. The quality of the clothes are fabulous and last. Elegance is what I get out of the fashions in this store.
Last but not least is Marshall’s - my all-time favorite. You can’t walk out of this store without anything. It is like a candy store. There is something for everyone! Plus, you can find really good brands here and not pay a fortune for them. People always ask me about the quality (because more than half my wardrobe is from there) if it lasts. The answer is yes!! Just take care of it and follow the washing instructions. I love that there is sections here so you don’t get overwhelmed. If you need a shirt, you go to that area and so on.
So, to all the women out there who are feeling frumpy and a “hot mess”, take a look at these stores. Invest in yourself and know that beauty is only skin deep! But you can still wear a kick-ass outfit!!! Enjoy!
